Cellophane and black cardboard, a little bit of glue and some imagination and all of a sudden you have an appropriate craft for a wide age range, huge scope for personal variation and innovation, and something really quite beautiful to decorate your windows! Our family creates Stained Glass Windows for Christmas decorations, but I can see an opening for birthday decoration, for house warming decoration, impromptu parties, occupy the kids for an hour and get them out of my hair craft time, and school crafts.

Cut a piece of cardboard to the size of your window or desired area, and cut out the shapes of your ‘stained glass’ areas.

From there, decide which is the front of the window and which is the back, cut small bits of cellophane to cover the appropriate areas in colour, and glue-stick away on the back of your work.

When the Stained Glass Window is dry, turn it over to the front, and fasten it to your real window. Easy peasy.
